I just pick up a new ARMASIGHT Zeus the other day and I assuming it’s running the latest firmware.
The provide manual appears to be outdated and is missing references for some of the enhancement settings. Can someone provide information and the recommended settings for the Gain and AGS Speed? I call Armasight to get more information, they said they would call back with the information, still waiting….
Also, can someone post “real world” setting recommendation they use for each of enhancement, I know that every hunting situation is different, weather, temperature and humidity…. Just pall park settings for a hunting situation of 80° temp with mild humidity.
Contrast <> the default is 0 (recommendation?)
"The adjustment range is from -8 to +8 with default value 0. Lower values will make hotter objects get more contrast and higher values will make a colder objects get more contrast"
Sharpness <> the default is 16 (recommendation?)
"The adjustment range is from -20 to +100 with default value 16. Lower values will create an object image with softer edges. Higher values will make an object sharper, enhance details and will further increase the signal to noise ratio" Smartscene <> the default is 100 (recommendation?)
"Higher values provide a more linear automatic gain control behavior and objects with similar, but not the same temperature can be differentiated with greater accuracy“
Gain <>35 - No information in manual (recommendation and info?) AGC Speed <>12 - No information in manual (recommendation and info?)
Thanks,
Eddie

The Gain and AGC are new firmware. I have both set pretty low, close to where yours are. I don't have the sharpness very high either because it makes the image look more unrealistic. I tend to run the contrast ramped up pretty high.
There are no standard settings. You adjust the settings to be what you like to see. The only two things I am apt to regularly change are brightness and contrast and those only because the environmental conditions have changed. Smartscene, Gain, and AGC Speed I tend to leave alone.

I'm like Double Naught Spy, I pretty much only mess with brightness and contrast. You're just as likely to dial yourself out as in. The weather conditions have a lot to do on how well the picture looks. Right now in most of central Texas the weather conditions are horrible for Thermal.
