Can any of you out there give me some feedback on the Burris Fullfield E1 30mm Riflescope? My typical shots are about 75 to 125 yards. Occasionally out to 300. I hunt with 30-06 as well as .308.

Would this be a decent scope to use?
What other brand would you compare this scope to?

I assume that you haven't bought it yet. I have two FFII's in 4.5-14 (not the 30mm tube), and I've been very pleased with them. I'd suggest the AO version and the BDC dots, but neither is critical for short range shooting. Burris FFII scopes are a lot of scope for the money.

You can't really go wrong on a $150 Burris scope on sale from $300. Yes, it is a good deal.
For the distance you plan to shoot (typical 125 yards), this will get the job done for you.

thanks for the responses. I guess I need to either get a new rifle to put this one on, or get a new rifle to put my existing scope on. ha

In their price range the Fullfield II is my favorite scope.

There is no need to go with a 30mm tube unless you need more travel in the tube.

With all due respect, at $150 bux for the 30mm, I'd say this is a No Brainer" kinda bargain. Whats not to like about saving money on a reliable useful product, that is certainly capable of meeting your 300 yard requirements. At that price I might buy several, finances allowing...like I wish't I'd bought more than several SS T3's when the I got my 270 SS/syn from Bunkie via Archie in Buffalo who was closing them out at under $400...or the $300 3x9x40 Zeiss Conquests Cabella's blew out couple years ago I didn't get in on either "back in the day". Oh Well Snooze Ya Looze

I've owned numerous FF II's and never had an issue with one...just never ran one on anything harder kicking than a maxed out M70 Classic 300WMg though.

I've also called Burris' CSR's to ask them to inspect - for free - a used FF II I'd bought and re zero the turrets I was suspicious of ....and got it done on my dime for one way shipping.

I hear ya on the no brainer price. I was just curious what they would compare to.either way, I already bought it and now thinking about finding another rifle to put it on rather than replace on an existing rifle. Just another excuse to add to my arsenal.

When I bought a Ruger 260 some years ago, from a guy I worked with, it had an Ok scope on it. I wanted something a bit better, but didn't want to spring for a VX3 4.5-14. The guy that had sold me the rifle had nice things to say about Burris, but I'd never even seen one up close. But, the FFII 4.5-14 was $299 and I figured that maybe I'd just try one out. Ordered it, put it on my rifle, and sighted it in. Took it hunting. Honestly, I was just flat surprised at how clear it was and how it worked in low light. The crosshairs were sharp and the right size. All was good. I was shooting 120 gr Nosler BT's and had it zeroed so that the BDC dots were where I wanted them, and one of them was dead on (supposedly) for 400 yards. Well, wouldn't ya know it, next time I was in the blind there was a coyote way the heck off in the hay field. Got the rangefinder and after cussing and pushing the button a zillion times, it read the coyote at right at 400 yards. Got the gun up, took my time, squeezed, and the coyote fell down hard. I was even more fond of my 260 and of that nice Burris scope. Bought another one for the grandson's 308.

Burris is the first and only scope I've ever bought where I thought I got more than enough quality for the price.
