I have been playing with the new Sig 2400 rangefinder that has the Applied ballistic app built in for about two weeks. Seems to be a real step up from the G7 from my brief time with it.
I have used it to make actual first round hits out to 1000 yards.
I have ranged much longer distances but was able to get solid readings off cows with ease at 1350 yards which is quite a bit better than the G7.
Very nice piece of gear.

First round hits at 1k is a big deal.
Animals at 1350 yards is a huge deal!
