Has anyone had any success using one of the new T-20 style focusable 940nm IR flashlights on digital scopes like the Photon? Distance? Sure would be nice to eliminate that red glow at the end of the 850nm tube.

You are going to severely limit your distance/usability if you go with the 940 nm. As P_P noted, the sweet spot is much lower.

Thanks to both of you. Just wondering if anyone has tried it. I have several lights in 850nm with various head sizes. I was hoping maybe some of the newer lights in 940nm with zoom focus might work.

For it to really work, you gotta up the power considerably.

And the 940 still glows. Go with your 850's.

Nice, but only 45 yards.

I get a little over 230yrds with mine. My 850 gets out past 400yrds. Some scopes can't see the 940 light. A lot of critters see above 850nm. However, none I've came accross see the 940nm light. I bought my T20 pill from Ian in the UK.

850 glow at 50+ yards is not worth changing to 940. People hunt yotes with flashlights so what't the big deal with a little glow?

I've come across yotes that are educated to ANY light at all.

Fred the next time you are over we need to look at the 940nm I have and see if you can see any glow out of it...I sure couldn't and I don't think Rob could either.

Happy Hunting

Mine that I use the 940 with is a DIY scope. However my Resolute that still has the uv filter can't see it so I use 850 with it.
