Looking for some input "from the field" on what size/power binoculars everyone carries.
Looking to upgrade to better 10x42, or go larger with 12x50.
Thanks

I use 10x42 since they are still easy to hold steady when glassing without a rest. If I were to go with 12x50, I would need something to rest them on or steady them with. If you are blind hunting only then 12x50 will work fine.

Have been hunting with 8x32 for years, but just ordered a pair of 12x50s as a Christmas present to myself.

I have a pair of Zeiss HD Conquest in 10x42. Best 1k I have ever spent. Awesome at first and last light and great for watching wildlife from the blind.

10X42. I wouldn't want to look through smaller, and I wouldn't want to carry bigger.

Nikon 10x42 for years. I have 10x50 Leupold Mesa (If I recall) but they are too heavy and I use for UT football games now.

I have 10x32 Acadia's, just right for the mountains and work fine here at home. I used to carry 10x50, but got tired of the bulk. 10x32 tells me what I need to know, whether its a decent animal, or I need to be closer

Plenty of magnification for my purposes (Deep East Texas).
10 power glass can be held still (enough) by a lot of folks, but not me.
Anything above that and most folks will see the 'shake' unless rested upon something.

8x42, better light gathering and no wiggles when viewing. 10x and higher most folks will need something to steady them with/on.
Adult late onset hunter. Why did I wait so long to get started?

We have 8x42 and 10x42, and I tend to reach for the 10x42 most.
