Looking at these from a fellow THF'er. Has anyone bought and used one. Pricing seems good. Just wondering how it worked for anyone who has got one. Not sure what caliber I'll be putting it on but 270 and up. I wa looking at the zv-3 4.5x14x44. Thanks guys and gals.

I've found some really good reviews. Thinking I'll just go with the zv3 3x9x50 bdc 400. It's actually calibrated to a 7mag from what I read and that's what I'll be putting it on. Any info on use from anyone would be drear though.

Don't trust a bdc til you confirm it at the range.

I have 5 of them so far. 4 are the ZA-5's and one a ZA-3 that cameraland had on sale. I've only had one that had any sort of problem - the ocular wouldn't focus for my eyes - and Minox took care of it.
3 of them have some sort of BDC on them. Tff caribou is correct, test them for yardage at the range.
The ZA-5's are the better of the two and the more expensive of the two. Clarity and sharpness of them is on par with a Zeiss Conquest HD 5 I have.
Though not 'turret-turners', the adjustments are fairly crisp on them, not a true 'click' for those that like to turn turrets though.
Boxing a target showed them to be very consistent with a good return to zero.

The ZA-3 I have is very close with an older VX-3 I have though I do note it's a few minutes later/earlier at low light. View is crisp and sharp for a scope I paid $100 for. I haven't had a chance to test the BDC on this one yet, it's on a pick-up 30-06 I snagged right after Thanksgiving and all I've done is sight it in so far. This rifle is more of a truck-gun/loaner gun for me so it probably won't get used all that much.

All in all, the Minox is becoming a go-to for me for new optics. As my old Leica's finally bail on me, I'll replace them with the Minox.

Thanks for all the info guys. Been putting off buying a few scopes for a while. Just gonna get one and see how it does. Thanks again.

TAT, Cameraland has the HD-5 3-15x56 on sale for like $349. Check out the 'Deal of the Day'.

They still have some of the ZA3's at $99 as well.

I have a ZA 3-9x50 I absolutely love, great glass compared to some of the other glass I have. Only thing I have in my closet that truly beats it is Swaro. It can hold its own compared to the rest.

The ZV is a lower quality scope than the ZA. Believe it is actually made in China to Minox specs. I have a ZA in 3-9x40 and a ZV in the same configuration. Both nice scopes, but the ZA is noticeably better IMO.
