Got one on my Smith and Wesson 10-22 MP AR. 3 years old and the dot light goes in and out. Replaced battery 3 times. Something shorting?

Cheaper red dots seem to do that. I have a tru glow that does the same thing. Only one power of the red works now. The other 4 red setting and all the green are broken.
