If possible, it is recommended that mount screws should be treated with blue Loctite prior to mounting the scope on a weapon

Freezing display/ shutdown issues are sometimes resolved by ensuring the battery cap is as tight as possible

Under the most recent publicly available firmware (.228), the following issues still remain:

- reticle not centered on zoom (often shifting off the display at higher zoom levels)
- flickering in night mode
- advertised gyroscopic stabilization does not function
- advertised “on the fly” firmware updates from the Obsidian smartphone/ tablet app are not possible
- some units are experiencing loss of focus caused by recoil of calibers company representatives have previously stated fall within their design parameters, as seen here:

Because sifting through 100 pages across two boards isn't happening for most people.

UPDATE: ATN company rep Sachal Baig now states that sunshades will only work with new-production 5x units. If a sunshade is required for a non-qualified unit, the scope will need to be returned to ATN under an RMA, and replacements will not likely ship for 30-45 days. Email sbaig@atncorp.com for details.
