Is anybody seeing large amounts of ticks on your deer? Need for concern? If so, how do you treat? Thanks!!

You shoot an axis 'bout this time of year, and they can be quite impressive. Then you can shoot another one, a few days later, and there's almost none. 'Depends on their choice of bedding area, I suppose.

I have seen them on deer and pictures of deer/exotics with a lot of them on the ears and head. The concern would be when the get tick numbers get to be a to a lot. They can effectively be treated on deer.

The area I hunt had cases of cattle with tick fever, the government believe it or not started feeding medicated corn at the beginning of 2017 and still filling feeders every two weeks. They installed six boss buck free choice feeders and pins on our place, so we only throw corn during hunting season. None of the deer we killed last season had ticks.

I put out the sulfur salt blocks at all my feeder locations, outside the pens ... hogs will roll them around some and even lick ... keep the ticks at bay on deer & hogs.

Haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary on the deer, but for us they have been bad for the past 3-4 years for us. Im tired of getting ticks on me, would love a prescription or something people could take that would protect us like our dogs etc. lol.
It's hell eatin em live

Wonder what medication the government is using on the corn to prevent the ticks? On a side note the deer always have more ticks on the left than on the right!

Keeps stull off the exterior and interior of goats and what ever else eats it.

I used to have a lot of them. Had to dust with sulfur every time I left the house. Deer were crawling with them. Then, we had about 4 years of drought and wound up with no ticks or chiggers. Still no chiggers but the deer now have a couple of them.
Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.
