Have this buck showing up after sunset and prior to sunrise regular, is there away to change his pattern? Currently have feeder in the area he frequents only throwing in the morning 5 minutes prior to sunrise for 3 seconds. But I guess there is still enough corn that makes it through the day to satisfy his trips back to the feeder. Would really like to see him during the day, and have not seen any game cam pictures of him during the day.

Any suggestions, he just started coming in about 3 weeks ago? The area behind him is heavily wooded for 20 yards back, then another persons property.

Would be great if you could find out where he bedded and where he might stage before he hits the feeder. He has to come from somewhere. I do know that's easier said than done though!

He's a heckuva buck! Hope you get him. Spend as much time in the woods as you can.

Do you have water near by?
If so check for tracks and place a camera there.
If he's showing up during shooting light your one step closer up

Had a buck that was a night time show only for the most part. He would often times be there when we walked up to the blind according to the trail cameras and then left. We got him a few years later when his teeth were on the way out and he was more regular at the feeders. I would try some doe in heat scents and try to get there before him. Sounds like the property may be small enough he spends his daytimes somewhere else.

Property is 155 acres total, with a couple of tanks close by.

I am guessing he maybe 4.5 years old, would you say that is good or is he older? Will definitely try a little scent to see if that helps, have tried to do the rattling with no luck.

Thanks for the tips and suggestions, can always use experience and lots of luck to achieve a DRT scenario.

Another thing you can try is corning the roads and see if that brings him out.

Nice buck...you have him coming so ...he has to feed every 4 hours..wonder were he is feeding after daylight. My guess he is very close all the time. I think I would try setting the timer a few minutes later each day and see what happens. Give him some competition by running the timer for ten seconds instead of 3 seconds. Three seconds is probably around one pound of feed...10 seconds will give ya around 3.5 lb.s ...enough for more than one deer. This is not an old deer ...he can be fooled. By the way looks like 4 yrs. old to me. I also would try a drag rag and tinks 69 all around the feeder. This will get you more action. If ya dont see something different...keep trying...you will.

Old buck. May be feeding in the evening light somewhere else.

Recently got a gym membership, strange folks! I like to show up the roid zombies with my full motion curls with the 55lb. bells. Not their cheater short stroked light weights. It's holarious.

Do you feed in the evening? If so try feeding late, like with 30 minutes left before dark.
My daughter got a nocturnal buck a few years back by feeding late. At about five minutes left of legal shooting time, as it was getting dark, she would put the rifle in the window and wait. She got him with one minute left before the 30 minute mark, I was watching the clock as she pulled the trigger. She had done this for several days before he showed early enough to get him. We had watched him come in 5-10 minutes after legal time several times before he got the munchies early that day. The game cam had him coming all night long, just milling around looking for a scrap piece of corn.

That deer is older than 4.5. We have a buck on our 1,800 ac. high-fenced pasture that is 7 1/2 this year. He has never been seen by anyone during daylight, other than during aerial census. All trailcam photos we have are at night, throughout his entire life. We know where he lives, where he travels and where he feeds. Been trying to kill him for two years now, without a sighting. The good news is I got daylight photos of him this year, so maybe he'll slip up when he gets tired and hungry. He showed up in October at a protein feeder that had been shut off. I opened it up and he was there the next day, late morning. I'm going to put protein in that feeder next time I'm down and sit on it daylight til dark for a couple days. Haven't sat that long in a lot of years, but have a feeling that's the only way I'm gonna kill him.

I would hand corn a spot a little ways off from the feeder. Especially if you have a idea on which direction he will come from. We have shot a few nocturnal bucks by doing this.

Figure out where he is coming from and move out of your stand and make a good concealed sit on the ground or hang a tree stand and surprise him. He is probably patterning you too.

Buddy, I have a large eight that I would like to take, but I have never seen him.

The picture above is as close as it comes. 6:35 was the start of legal shooting time, but I can tell you that from 100 yards out in a blind it was pitch dark. The buck has never fed at the feeder, just passes through scent checking for does. This is the only picture I have of him in the morning. I think he probably found a receptive doe at the feeder during the night.

He appeared in mid-summer with about 10-days between visits. The period decreased to 5-days between visits during our three rut periods, but it has now stretched back out to the once every ten days. Too me, the time between visits suggests a very large home range. My place is about the size of yours, and this is the only place I have images of the buck.

At first, I thought he was a five-year-old, but the fact that he has remained nocturnal, even through three rut periods, suggests to me that he is probably six.
