Enjoying my time at camp with my 2yr old son while mama, pawpaw and my 4yr old daughter are in the woods. I think the rut is about over here in San Augustine. Past two weeks we have been seeing lots of activity. So far my wife and FIL has seen nothing. Hopefully they see something in the morning before we make our 2 hour track back to the casa

Smart man. Ain't nothing more fun than a 2yr old. 'Family's got a some land in San Augustine county. That is some tough hunting right there.

It can be. Up until this weekend this year and last year have been great. Past few weeks we’ve seen young bucks chasing. No big in’s. Not even a lot of movement on camera. It’s strange. I am enjoying myself in the wood though, even though I’m not in a blind. I’ve already got my big buck during bow season. So I’m just relaxing. I’ve been hoping my wife would get her first deer that way I can take another one. Next weekend is out last doe weekend. Hoping she pulls it off and sticks one we can find. She lost one she shot last weekend.

I stuck my big buck opening evening of archery season (man, that seems so long ago, now).

My wife hunted last weekend, all hunts, while I stayed back at camp w our two boys (3, 5). No luck, se we came back this weekend. She was in the blind and shot a 6.5 yr old typical 8 Saturday morning. So we got to spend the rest of the weekend as a full family at camp. Best season ever.
