With the upcoming front when would you for sure want to be in the stand?

Probably typical times.

With that said, I was once in the stand when a front hit. Went from warm and humid one minute to a 20 degree drop the next. Nothing moving prior to the front. Within 5 minutes of it's passing there were deer everywhere. It was crazy.

This weekend with the rut being in full-swing mode across much of the state, I would sit out as long as I possibly could. Bucks will be on the move on and on all day checking for the scent of a hot doe, they aren't doing to stumble into a receptive doe laying in their bed. If a buck isn't locked down on a doe, he'll be on his feet most of the time, day and night, right now and for the next week or so.

For me hunting all day usually looks like: in my primary stand with a corn feeder or food source at least 30 minutes before first light, sit in that stand as long as I possibly can maybe until around 10 AM, I'll get down and slowly still hunt into the wind, I usually head towards a secondary stand (maybe just a brush blind overlooking a trail or a water source), but I'm hunting, and moving slowly as I head to the new location, I'll sit there as long as I can again, then I may rattle or still hunt and/or move to a third spot. Rattling from 10 AM to 1 PM seems to be the best time in my experience, and if its overcast with a light enough wind to let the noise carry a good ways then that's ideal. I'll head back to camp around 1 PM, check in with the other guys, eat a good sized lunch and maybe take a nap for an hour. I'm back in the stand at or before 3 PM and sit at whichever spot I choose (probably my tower that has 2 corn feeders but is also in a location where I'll still see deer even if they aren't hitting feeders as its in a natural funnel cutting the corner between two thick, brushy bedding areas) until after dark.

There's no reason to be hanging out in camp if you don't have your buck yet, especially during the middle of the rut when bucks are not taking off much time from their job of finding hot does. I shot my buck last weekend at dusk as he followed a doe into my corn feeder, but I saw a buck chasing a doe at 1 PM and another buck cruising late morning. I'm on doe and cull duty now and will be hanging out, cooking for others and getting work done around camp during the middle of the day. May do some rattling as that can be a blast if they are responding to it.

I have seen deer from camp, but never shot one. This front isn't gonna be cold enough to shut em down IMO. So I'll be out all day, unless I'm cleaning one.

For fishing, before the cold front. For hunting, right after the front. I've always had more movement after a front rolls through.

Definitely Sat afternoon, or Sunday anytime if it where me. You already know deer have no problem hunkering down for a while.

After it hits, which will set things up perfect for me. Temp will be 33°, Wind N less than 5mph, clear sky at 0600. I've been covered up with does and young bucks hitting my feeders. Last week, I noticed one of my regular does had kicked her two button buck fawns to the curb. They were on their own. I'll be in my blind 4-5 hours in the AM, three in the PM and set up on the river in between.

Hunt if you have the chance, regardless of the weather. Prolly can't shoot one from the house or work, or from camp(in some instances). Besides, I'm sure we all like to be out in the woods

Deer over here near Brenham are spooky after most fronts, howling wind leaves blowing, and such
make deer nervous. Once the wx lays should be good.... maybe the pork chops will be moving!...

got a new load to check out, maybe will get my chance this coming week!

Sat and Sun look awesome. I would not leave stand until 10:30 at least. Last week I saw an older but not legal buck at 10:45 cruising around. Should be way better this weekend. I wil be out Fri to Mon but mainly cooking and watching football since I got my buck. I will have camera while in stand and 30.06 if a yote or oinker walks by. Hopefully someone else gets a good one. Good luck. I'll get a doe later on. Haven't even seen a doe while hunting the past two weekends.

I'm headed out tomorrow morning with plans to hunt all day. Supposed to blow like crazy all day today, but light winds tomorrow. Should be a combo for really good movement.

I'm headed out after work to Carrizo Springs, the ranch hasn't been disturbed or even driven on since Sept. hoping a big boy slips up.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

I'm at the lease already, wind blowing 20 mph gusting to 30. Supposed to lay down around 5. 32 degrees in the morning with a 6 mph north wind. Gonna spread a couple bags of apple corn and try to see as many doe as possible. Should be a great weekend
