So the clocks change in the middle of opening rifle season weekend, what a pain when it comes to setting, resetting timers

Your timers won't know the time changed.

I still cannot understand why we have this post every year. I don't understand why people can get that the time that was set will feed at the same daylight time the following day and so on. Sometimes I change mine and sometimes not. Majority of the time not.

but what if my deer change the time on their iWatches and show up for their meal early, and it hasn't dropped yet?

I heard about an Aggie who called Austin complaining about daylight savings time. It seems that extra hour of daylight was burning up his crops.

I Feed Indian Corn. The deer love it and all the colors make them stay at the feeder longer.

I was thinking about it and I bet the number one question asked by hunters in Texas is "what time does the feeder go off?"

Kind of crazy when you think about it.

I always change the times on my feeders. I want my feeders to be consistent with sunrise and sunset. If you set them once for all of deer season, it will be darker and darker at feed time based on the days getting shorter. I may be crazy, but I try to keep my morning feed time at about 5 - 10 min after civil twilight and an hour before sunset in the evenings. That way it is always consistent for the deer based on sunrise / sunset. crazy crazy crazy

I agree with what you say but I don't sweat time change weekend. I change it when I adjust it based on sunrise and set.

Me either. Don't sweat DST. I adjust mine on Sunday before I go home. Fill feeders, change times, make sure cams are good.

I use a sunrise/sunset app on my phone that has twilight times included. It's based on GPS. I consider it pretty handy.
