I know we still have a while, but who all plans on being out in the woods on opening day? Since I only have access to public land, I might wait a few days/weeks until the weather cools off or I can go during the week when it's not as crowded.
What about you guys? Who plans on being in the woods on opening day?

Erath county, opening weekend. Then, Real, Somervell, Comal counties later in the season.

Be setting the stand near Carbon TX on opening morning with my wife sitting beside me.

Well, since I had to tell my FIL that he can no longer go out to my little place alone anymore (just too frail and elderly...and stubborn to a fatal flaw), I have to at least offer to take him up there and hunt with him. He'll probably be too proud and stubborn to accept, but, even though he can be a PITA sometimes, I hope he'll go. He doesn't have but maybe a couple of seasons left. After that, I'll head to the lease, north of Sanderson.

I will be out in Mason or Menard County. But then I hunt almost every weekend, nothing new.

as of right now it will be Hunt county, but that could change.
If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

Plan on going out for the evening hunt in young county opening day bow. My son will have some football film/practice in the am, but the evenings have been more active anyway, so hoping we can stick a deer or two.

Ill be out Oct 1st with the bow...at least to begin scouting. Not sure about opening day gun. I also only hunt public land.
