If you could only plant one, what would it be?
My thought is that summer plots are a little tougher to establish if you don't have irrigation. And If you get the rain you need to grow em, that same rain has provided plenty of natural browse as well with the nutrients deer need.
With fall plots, they can grow much better with very little rain and it provides a food source when much of the other native browse has died off in the winter months. That is kinda my thought process in getting my new property established. I was just wondering if others felt the same way and managed their land similarly.

Okay, I'll answer your question which was if I could only do one which one would I do. Without question, a fall plot. Providing food for the deer when most of their food is dieing off and you get the additional benefit of being able to hunt over the fall plot.

Fall plots are easier the grow because it's the end of the growing season for grass and weeds. Just the opposite in the Spring when whatever you plant has to compete with everything else.
