I just leased a little piece of land "70 acres" and wanted to see if anyone hunted this area. I am located about 2 miles south of Weches off of Highway 21 . I was wondering about the deer population as well as if there are some good bucks in the area..

Thanks,

Trey

Is that that tract that Campbell had? I was going to go scout it and see what it looked like but just never got the time. Should be some deer there.

I know there used to be some monsters come out of the Neches bottoms. Biggest buck I've ever seen up close was killed just south of Alto on the river. The guy just cut the head off and had it on his flat bed for everyone to see. Naturally I pulled over. It was a 'Giant east Texas mossback free range swamp buck'. He had a honey-hole behind his house. Good luck. That's pretty country too.

I was in a bow lease a mile from Mission. Never took a good buck off it but got several on the game cams. I got tired of last minute call to move stands for the loggers so i got off the lease but the deer were there for sure.

We were in Mission Tejas last weekend doing some "research" for the FINDING BIGFOOT show, and saw lots a fresh deer tracks in the state park. Went up the road into Davy Crockett NF near the Overlook about 8PM and were literally chasing deer out of the way! Does, mostly, but did see one nice buck with them.

My first time in Mission Tejas....that is a really nice State Park. It was very clean and well kept. Some guy had wondered off one of the hiking trails and broke his ankle. He had a tuff time because he weighed 350lbs and took 6 people to load him into the EMS wagon.
