Today is first day of Missouri rifle deer season. Son and I are packed and heading out in about 5 minutes. Only a 35 minutes drive to my place. Generally take 2 or 3 during rifle season then I add one during muzzleloader. Wish us luck. Let you know the results as they develop.

My FIL and BIL are in the woods in Saginaw MO right now. I haven't heard from them yet. I saw a 150" plus 10 there while visiting in late October. My BIL got a 178" opening day there 2 years ago. It was a giant. Good luck. BASSHAWK

Very little deer movement in our neck of the woods this weekend. Saturday I saw one doe but she was back in heavy brush so no shot. Today- sat from 0545 til 1645 before I saw my first deer. Since I was allotted extra tags for landowner and the Conservation Department encourages taking a buck on those tags. My place is on the border (outside) of the CWD containment area. Because of that the Dept has lifted the restriction on antlers (4 point on one side) so the buck today was legal on that tag- ALL 3 POINTS OF HIM. Friend of mine works for the department so he took samples for CWD. We have submitted samples for the last several years. All our deer have checked out fine. He told me my deer was kind of unusual- he was a 3 1/2 yo and only 3 points.
Son saw two deer yesterday and both came home with us last night. He used my other landowner tag to take a large bodied 6 point in the morning and finished up with a button buck in the afternoon. He thought the button buck was a doe. When he went up to it he noticed it has male parts. Hard to tell it was a button by looks at a distance until you actually felt the head. Two very small bumps only about a quarter inch tall.
Still have two more antlerless tags I can fill. Plan to site in the muzzleloader tomorrow and use it the rest of the seasons. ML not required for 11/11 to 11/21 and 12/01 to 12/03 seasons, but is for 12/23 to 01/02/2018 season.
