If you want some friendly advice, get a haircut and take a bath. You wouldn't get hassled so much.

Very nice mount and love the displays. Tell me about the JAWS you have displayed. I target large sharks from a kayak launching from the surf n the summer and THAT was from a large shark!! I can think of only three species that would be that large.

When I was a kid in the 80s, my aunt and uncle used to take me and my cousins shark fishing on the beach on South Padre Island. We would camp out there almost every weekend in the summers, and when we got older, we would sometimes stay for a week. We would fish for whiting, reds, specks, and all the other usual suspects using shrimp on our light takle. Once we caught some, they would become bait for the shark rigs. We used old-school Penn Senators, 9/0, 12/0, and even had a 16/0, like the one in Jaws. We would row the Zodiac raft out past the breakers and drop the bait. My uncle was old-school. He grew up fishing off-shore with his dad back in the 50s and 60s. By the time he was an older, retired guy, taking us out to the beach, he would just kick back, drink Miller Lite, dip Coppenhegan, and tell us the most incredible stories about fishing and hunting back when he was growing up. We usually didn't catch monster sharks, but every now and then when we were busy doing something around our little camp.....BOOM! The clicker on one of the Penns would start screaming, and all hell would break loose!! Those moments I'll never forget for as long as I live. The jaws on my wall are probably from a bull shark. My uncle and aunt had about four sets of jaws from the biggest sharks we caught, up on their wall. My Uncle passed away in '98, and my Aunt passed away in 2013. Her son, my cousin, gave each of the boys that used to go with them (me and my cousins) a set of jaws from their wall. Since I was the third oldest, I got the third biggest set. My older cousins Mike and Tommy have the huge sets of jaws. Lol. You should see those. But I know that each one of the cousins would give back our jaws just to have one more fishing trip with my Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Pera. They taught us so much about fishing and life.

Thank you guys. My aunt and uncle were mentioned in an article about surf fishing for sharks in Texas Fish and Game about 12 years ago. My aunt was really proud of that.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. In 2007 I became a fishing guide, and every time that I pulled out of the dock, put the throttle down, and headed out into the water, I would think of my Uncle Jimmy and how excited he would have been to know that he inspired me to fish.
