Getting a lease in northwest Dickens county this year. I haven't hunted that far west in 4-5 years so I'm pumped to be back out there. Anybody else hunting that area?

PitchforkPredator hunts out that way on the Pitchfork. There are some good deer and hog populations out that way in certain areas. I think water is key to the populations more than anything. Also lots of predators and some good dove and quail hunting in Dickens.

I hunt in the southern end of the county. There are WT and Mulie. The ratio depends on the terrain. The mulies live more around the cedar break country, the WT more in the rolling prairie and mesquite flats.

The quail have come back really well. You want to focus on the water sources for long term hunting sets.

If you have any river running through, that water is too salty for the wildlife to drink. No shortage of hogs and coyotes. Some very nice bucks if they can reach maturity. Good luck this season. up

Hunt 160 acres north east of Dickens for the past 5 years. Deer populations have been increasing nicely since drought. I only have white tails on my place. We have at least 2 or 3 mature bucks a year who keep our attention. We had about 10 to 12 different bucks survive the season this year so we expect an interesting 2017 season. Hogs have fluctuated I believe do to copter shootings in area. Lots, To many yotes. Terrific quail for the last 2 years. I have about 5 coveys of 10 to 20
