About to head out for the last trip of the season near Castell in Llano County. Any of you guys noticing any movement pattern of deer this late in season? Hopefully ALL acorns are gone by now and the deer will not be nocturnal with the new moon and some cloud cover. Any reports are appreciated.

Just did a doe hunt outside burnet and had no problem filling our freezers. Saw tons of deer and several good bucks.

I live in Mason, about 20 miles from where you'll be hunting, and the deer are like fleas in a Taliban jihadist's beard! I've lived here for almost 20 years and I've never seen a larger, healthier population. Unless the place you're hunting has been "hunted out," and has the deer extremely gun shy, you should do quite well. Good luck!

They're definitely all over the place in Castell but there have been a ton of acorns this year keeping them in the oaks mostly. Hopefully that wont be the case this trip.

My land is South of Mason and directly West of Castell and there are deer everywhere and hogs as well.

Best looking herd I've seen in quite sometime. Headed out this weekend to get the protein started back up since the rut is well over.

Best of luck to you and make sure to stop in Castell for some drinks and food for sure if you haven't before.

Looking forward to it. I have one more buck tag and a doe tag and I plan on using them!

It's a great area to hunt.

I went on a doe hunt right before Christmas near Enchanted Rock and had my choice of 15 (plus 3 bucks). Not only did they hit the corn I hand tossed, but they hit the half-empty bag of corn sitting right behind my ground blind that I was in.

Lots and lots of animals.

Nice! My biggest curse this year is the oak flat I am hunting in. It's been hard to pattern them over corn. Hopefully I will see the same as you did over corn.
