Looking to get a little advice from some experts. I will be Hunting for the first time in a few weeks, just need to know a little about how things work like where to get tags, how to handle your kill,etc... any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. Any Walmart will have licenses (with tags attached) in the Sporting Goods department. As far as cleaning your kill, if you don't have someone with you to show you, check out some YouTube videos. Good hunting.

Welcome! Like Creekrunner said, Walmart, Academy, Bass Pro, Cabelas and the like will have licenses. Be sure and grab the free TPWD Hunting Regulations booklet when you buy your license and read it thoroughly. If you are hunting with others, don't be afraid to let them know you are new to hunting and ask for assistance. May be a good idea to tag along with an experienced hunter for a hunt or two if possible. They can answer your questions and show you the finer points. Good luck and be safe!

If you want a good book on hunting, in general, check out Steven Rinella's "The Complete Guide to Hunting, Butchering, and Cooking Wild Game". He has editions for Big Game and Small Game. There are a lot of cool things to learn about hunting those books.

I Feed Indian Corn. The deer love it and all the colors make them stay at the feeder longer.

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

youtube has everything you need to learn on how to butcher your game in the field at the truck or back in the barn.

great tool.

Being a little more specific on what you are hunting and where might help. Deer hunting and squirrel hunting are totally different so the advice can not be specific

GO TRUMP!

I'm a newbie here of sorts... Haven't been since I was a kid. Luckily I have a good buddy that I have on my side helping me out. They are dead on about the YouTube videos. I bet I have watched thousands in the last few weeks. Have fun and enjoy.

Take someone with you that can help you. Google/ YouTube will show you what it looks like, but that will not be enough for most. This google/YouTube phenomenon makes many people experts that don't know crap!
One can not bet hands on experience!!
2 weeks ago I watched a kid (23 years old) gut a deer in about 45 minutes! Didn't skin or quarter.
Last week he was going to try some "tennis ball" method and doesn't even know how to gut, skin,or quarter one out correctly.

Another great resource is the game warden in your county. They have been very helpful to me when I've had questions that the TP&W manual doesn't answer or even newbie questions (I'm a newbie myself) like "where are the turkeys?".
