How has the activity been in the panhandle? Childress area?

I'm hearing the warmer temps have kept it pretty slow. It'll "heat up" soon enough though.

Had a scouting trip to my Foard County lease last Saturday morning. Had three bucks (no shooters) grouped together at feeder, later joined by a few does. This is right on schedule for our rut that usually starts in about three weeks. They are hitting corn hard which is a little surprising considering the great range conditions and all the fresh wheat and alfalfa we have.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

Getting a late start this year and just set up cameras and filled feeders last weekend in Wheeler county. Saw a lot of deer out and about in the early morning on the wheat fields but not much after the sun really came up. It's also really hard to be sneaky in an old truck loaded down with corn.

Very slow thus far. I have heard of some big deer killed on MLD property east of Paducha but on my little 1300 acres it's green with above average rainfall and above average temps. I see the weather doesn't show any freezing temps until MAYBE end of November. I expect a very slow year but that doesn't mean it's not going to be a good one.
How come everybody I meet is a deer hunting expert?
