Are there things you look at when trying to kill off the native deer on a high fenced place when there has already been non-native deer exposed to the property? If so can someone give me insight on what to look for to see if they have all been or mostly cleared off before they brought the new deer onto the land?

Thanks,

Deer from the Pittsburgh area say "yinz", so don't forget them.

Yes reminds me of my wife's family who said "you'ins"
Pronounced yinz. This was in northern Ohio, country folk. They talk differently than city folk from Ohio. And don't even get me on southern Ohio/Kentucky folk, couldn't hardly understand them but it wasn't southern talk...

Has it got to the point that native whitetails aren't good enough? My uncle high fenced 300 acres of his ranch in Mason (lot of deer but not huge) and started feeding protein. Some of those Mason county deer are over 160". I dunno, maybe I'm missing the mark. Seems like native deer are ok.

I would not bring in any deer until the native deer have been harvested out.

We have all seen pitchfork predator's 8 pt under the photo section. All natural. If that's not good enough for a hunter, I don't know what is.

If a person brought in non-native deer and is attempting to kill off all native deer then I would imagine that they did so in the name of large antler characteristics. Although I agree with the above, native bucks under good management will grow plenty large antlers. I don't think you can distinguish between the two just by looking at them. although stocked deer probably have ear tags.

if its in the name of antler characteristics, then do like always...shoot the ones you don't like and keep the stuff you do to propagate.

If it a good looking mature buck, it don't really matter where he is from.
