So this is my set up for they year. Hogs have been coming in hard so im putting hog panel around one feeder. I'm also thinking of dropping a mineral block in there to attract more deer. Another thing I've been thinking of doing is putting out some winter rye in the open area. Any thoughts on this.

Your missing your N arrow. I'm assuming the top of picture is North?

Looks like a nice set up. What county are you in? Are you running any game cameras? Wheat from the feed store is cheaper.

We're does the wind come from. Wind should always be the first consideration. By the looks of your map you could only hunt this with one wind. Next thing to always think about is how you come into the area. I think it's always best to set up on the very edges of your property so you don't push anything upon arrival. I hope that helps. I'm mostly a bow hunter so maybe kind of paranoid. Truth is mature deer won't be around much if deer are snorting at your scent all the time. Stealth is everything. If you hunt all season and the deer never knew you were ever there. Mature deer will be out and about during daylight and then it's a matter of picking the one you want. If your getting busted all the time chances are your going to see lots of young deer every time you hunt.

One of the best parts of a deer lease to me is all the time I spend day dreaming about it at work. Lol

The top of the "map" would be south

Yes there will be a camera in each feeder maybe another on the open area.

Didn't ever think or out in thought to the wind since I'll be in a box blind.

Depending on how far off ground , most winds come out of north. NW during most of this time of season. If blind on ground you probably get busted, if up 8-10 ft maybe not. Don't cook bacon and beans in blind. Lol

If I planted anything it would be oats/wheat 50/50, I would pass on rye unless you get a "cereal grain" cultivar. I buy the brown salt/mineral block from the feed store, have had does licking it a lot in the last 2 weeks, all I have used since having deer go after my cows salt years ago.

BTW, maybe you should start drawing site plans, looks about as good as the ones I had to use on the job last night grin North is always "up" trout

You need to move your blind.
By your map, I am hunting across the fence and I'm set up where I can see your feeder. Would hate to take a shot and miss and then you take a stray bullet!!!! bolt

that looks like a good set up to me considering that the feeders are west and south of the blind. although stated otherwise above, I believe the most common wind in november will be of a southerly direction, even in north texas. that's been my experience, at least. this blind hunts well with a south wind. once december rolls around the wind will blow more out of the north, its probably close to 50/50 between south and north winds.

I would put the blind in the lower right corner of your map on the other side of the pond.

North or south wind you will be good to go. You also won't be looking into a western sunset on your evening hunts at the feeder your going to hog panel.
