Is it just me or has anyone else noticed the deer population in freestone county around Fairfield and surrounding areas seem to be very plentyful? Also I heard that hunters can kill 2 doe on thanksgiving weekend?

I've been hunting my wife's family land in Fairfield for the past 6 years now, and it seems there are pockets in the area that hold a lot of deer, and pockets that you don't hardly any. One of their places is about 30 minutes outside of town and I can always count the deer on one hand I've seen total up until a certain point on the trip out. Once I get to that point, its like the deer just come out of the woodwork and are everywhere. Just my experience. Looking forward to bringing a few in to yall this year.
