It's so green and lush that I just rarely see deer anymore. I was wondering what happened and where they went. But the grandkids are here so we went and got the SD cards from the cameras. Plenty of deer pictures. There was the miserable 'tall spike' that I never saw during the season. And the big 8 that went nocturnal. Late Feb, and there were 5 bucks at one feeder, and all still had their racks. And plenty of does. Pigs have apparently left me again. Just because I shoot a bunch of them, they pack up and leave.

Deer are eating corn. Good to know.

Ungrateful pigs. Why don't they understand that if they are going to eat sacrifices must be made?

Our deer are not hitting corn at all now. Hardly any on cams. I kicked up two groups of deer 50 yards from a feeder Tuesday and not one deer pic in two months on that feeder. Saw two doe walk right past another feeder today with fresh corn on the ground. Coons and turkey are loving it. We killed all our pigs so waiting on their reinforcements to build up.

Pigs would be a welcome sight! Don't scoff. I'm from Kansas and a pig on a feeder here would be like an escaped exotic at yours. I know we don't want them here, but it is a treat for us to hunt them when we can. Really, though, keep the hogs. I don't mind the travel and I love Texas.

Finally got to check our cams out. Hogs are back. Pasture looks like a short rain forest... haha.

Deer are still hitting penned feeder great, the hogs have the pretty run off of the other feeders.

Just checked my feeders for hog sign. All I found was that my corn is all used up. Gotta go to town. Also...gotta mow some shooting lanes. Gotta sharpen the shredder. Got a lotta gottas.

I have been seeing some does in the yard. All look pregnant. The bucks were busy while they were nocturnal. I can only hope that the 'Tall Spike' didn't get much action. Three years of hunting for him, and I can't ever find him.

I quit shooting does during the latter part of the season as I did not see many. I should have kept shooting as I have way more than I can handle. Guess they got smart during the season.
