On a 1-10 scale with a 1 being Dallas county and a 10 being Webb/Maverick county, how would you rate Hardeman county in terms of deer quality? Low fence of course.

6-8, seen some nice ones come out of that county...My understanding is there are some good ones that hit the crops and foodplots up that way..

I'd give them a solid 8 if they are on a ranch that's not over hunted. Sadly some of the brokers and landowners in the area are convinced that they have the deer densities of the hill country and want to put 10 or 12 hunters on 2000 acres. They talk management but dream of more money. That being said, there are some really big deer in the area, especially in the river bottoms. The biggest 8 point that I've ever seen on the hoof was in Hardeman county.
