I started digging Monday evening into my folks vast library of old slides and photos in hopes of sparking some interest on my moms part. Mom is slipping into the quiet of old age but mostly suffers from the boredom brought on by diminishing capabilities. While the old photos & slides of long ago were intended to entertain and engage mom I got a real shot from the first carousel out of the box.. Right there projected up on the wall of the apartment was a photo of Snick's camp and a tall thin young man with a head of curly brown hair next to a nice whitetail buck. All these years since that November in 1979 and that first trip to the Michigan deer camp I only knew of one photograph of the whole trip. As I loaded the many slides a dozen or so were from that Michigan deer season. I had forgotten so much of the details but the memories came flooding back triggered by these images. Read more
