I have been hunting my place for 5 years and we are always covered up in doe at the feeders. Well until this year. I can count on two hands how many doe i have seen at my feeder and the same for everyone else hunting our place. I have had nothing but bucks come in to the feeder. this a 1000 LF ranch outside of Fredericksburg with no shortage of deer in the area. My thoughts immediately go to the rain we had this year and the natural forbes that they must be feeding on. But I got out and did a little scouting and found the deer hammering an ag field no more than 150 yards from my stand. This field isnt planted with anything but does have some yound sprouts of green grass on it. I counted about 30 deer on that 30 acre field in the evening. about half of which are smaller bucks.

anyone else seeing much come to the feeders?

I have had the same thing most of the season including archery this year. My stand counts are showing more bucks than does also. I think for me it is a combo of rain and ratio. The young bucks dog the does everytime one shows up at a feeder and the does quit attempting to eat at the feeder due to this. With all the green weeds and still a lot of browse they do not have to eat at feeders, so they don't. I have a corn feeder, protein feeder and oats at each blind. I think once the rut is over for me and we get some really cold temps the doe with show back up. Evening before last I saw 8 bucks, 2 doe and 2 buck fawns at one blind at about 5:45 till dark. Yesterday evening the deer came in so late I could not tell much about them. I have always spread corn out over a larger area and in several spots to spread the deer out to help with this. With all the young bucks and tight buck to doe ratio I have always had some issues but this year it is worse than any other year in a while.

Actually the same here. The greenest I have ever seen it this time of year. And we have had a lot of freezing mornings.

I bet that 30 acre field is loaded with browse down close to the ground mixed in the winter and summer grass. Real green up here as well, even with a few freezes. We should get good carry over #'s this year though.
