Looking for feedback from fellow hunters in the area please. Have been on my place for 4 years now and have not seen a single deer this year. Plenty of nocturnal activity on camera but no daytime deer, not even does. I am east of Woodson out 209 on a 320 acre place with cover, tanks and plenty of corn and protein.

I can't figure out if its pressure, poaching or what but 3 years ago I saw 36 deer during my hunts including 9 bucks. No shooters but those number have declined significantly the last 2 years to this years results.

Please let me know how your season's are going as frustration is building. Thanks in advance.

Merc,

I'll share what you and I already have talked about. I've been a small ranch landowner out in Murray the past 8 years and historically I have seen abundant day-night buck sightings in mid-late Oct., lesser day and mostly night mature buck sightings in early Nov.-Thanksgiving timeframe and much, much fewer between Thanksgiving - mid-December. A few more from around X-Mas through year-end. That has been pretty consistent year in / year out for me and from what I hear from others, not too inconsistent for them. Thinking it has to do with lower overall deer densities out there and with close in metromess hunting pressure, a good amount of early season kill off of mature bucks. This year coupled with abundant groceries in pasture, doesn't seem like a lot of deer are hitting feeders much at all there. My best experience out there has occurred with rattling in the mid-late November timeframe.
