We hunt northeast of Ballinger, close to Miles, TX.
Last weekend, we finally got feeders setup and running again, with cameras in place, but the suspense in killing us!
Anyone hunt near there, or in Runnels county? Seeing any good deer, or good quantity?
Any feedback is appreciated!
I have to wear sunglasses into the woods, because the deer would recognize me, an just surrender with their hooves up.

Don't hunt it, but drive through the area all the time.
From what I've seen, it's going to be one of the better years. Good crop, age classes, and i saw a whopper 2 weeks ago about 8pm just off the highway.
We hunt just west and it's also shaping up to be a good couple of years.

Seen a dead one just passed the bridge off 277. Looked like a nice buck. I hunt in Coke with John and looks like a decent crop. Should have some good ones in Runnels though.

I am south of you and from the 2 weeks of pictures I have, should be a good year. Average to slightly above average spring rains (on our place, we didn't get the rain most the state did but average is good for us) provided good vegetation and plenty of crops for good antler growth. Summer was dry with minimal rain, so corn seems to be more important. I think there will be some good deer taken out that way this year. Good luck

Been hunting there all my life. We hunt mostly West of Winters, but also have property south of Winters toward Hatchel. I have not spent much time this year around the pastures, but my brother said he has seen a lot off deer , and a few nice bucks. The deer have had a wonderful summer, should be good quality.

Thanks so much guys. Can't wait to get back out there next weekend and pull game camera cards!
