I was thinking about heading to the ranch this week to check on things, fill protein feeders, and check cameras. What percent of finished growth should the Bucks be at now? Are they about done growing?

I saw a big buck last week. They are in the last stages of antler growth, which will be mass and hardening. Right around September 15 they will almost all be done shedding their velvet in East Texas. up

Recently got a gym membership, strange folks! I like to show up the roid zombies with my full motion curls with the 55lb. bells. Not their cheater short stroked light weights. It's holarious.

Depends on where you are, I have 2 places 30 mins from each other and one group is almost finished and bucks on the other place are still sprouting new tines off the MB's.

From past years our deer probably have close to 2 months of velvet left.

Historically deer around clay county shed velvet at end of August into early September. By first week of September they are hard horned and all rubbed off. Pretty much done growing by now in my lease area, haven't seen anything growing for a couple weeks.

Thanks. I'll be out there tomorrow hopefully if everything goes well. I'm hoping something good has shown up. I'm thinking our place in atascosa county will be done with the majority of growth.

Even on the same property you can have different stages. Some bucks will be ahead with growth while others will be 2-3 weeks behind the lead group. South Texas bucks will still do quite a bit of growing. Many will grow into early Sept.
