I've been staring at the same dozen bucks since the opener. I sure hope this cool spell lights a fire under the big boy's butts. My trigger finger is gettin' itchy.

This cold front should kill of some of their vegetation and put em on the move for food. Several days of freeze level temps is what we've been needing.

I was in the SW Panhandle this weekend and observed lots of deer feeding on grasses and browse. Very little activity at feeders and with all the rain, plenty of water everywhere. Hopefully a good freeze will knock down the browse and get the bucks moving. I rattled at three different bucks and got no reaction out of any of them. As per usual, I suspect the week before, of and after Thanksgiving will be the best.

How come everybody I meet is a deer hunting expert?
