i have a running, used yamaha grizzly 600 hundred that i bought for a good price..and it starts runs..but i have an issue with it..i have to give it lots of throttle before it starts moving..but once it does..it runs like a bat out of hell..here is a video i posted on facebook live..it shows the bike running with the tranny cover off..it shows the primary sheave to the right and 2nd to the left..now watching all the youtube videos..the primary inside is cone shaped..and at higher rpm the belt is supposed to ride up on the sheave(wheel)..im going to take bothe primary and 2nd off and give them a good cleaning, replace belt..if that doesnt work..ill tear it back down and take a look at my clutch..now what ive read..and i did add the right specs oil,,no car motor oil..that if somebody did this..previous owner was a kid..i=i would have to replace clutch and put a clutch kit in..what do yall think? here is the video https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1258576184248724&id=100002890642011

ok after watching this video..the clutch is not where i said it was..thats the primary..the clutch is on the engine side behind the impeller..also the primary did move..is my belt worn sideways..and the beltisnt wide enough..meaning belt is bad..the rollor weights that works the centrifical force could need cleaned and greased..but i did see the primary move slightly..??

Didn't watch the video but sounds like someone might have put a clutch kit in it, heavier springs, etc.

The primary as you call it is a torque converter. It also performs as clutch and automatic transmission. It should be dry. If the belt is wore too thin in width, you will have to rev it a lot to get it to move.
The way it works is like this: At idle, the front pulley is loose and not touching the belt too much so it will idle and not load up engine. As you increase RPMs, the front pulleys will squeeze closer together and start squeezing the belt and start moving the vehicle forward (or reverse if you are in reverse). As the RPMs increase, the front pulley squeezes the belt more and more, effectively getting bigger in diameter, causing the rear pulley which is spring loaded to effectively get smaller in diameter and decrease the gear ratio so it goes faster. It's also known as CVT or constant variable transmission as it changes ratio depending on load and speed. It should be ran dry - if somebody ran oil in there, that can be a problem. I would check the belt width first, then make sure the cams and springs in both pulleys are free to move like they should.
Look at that and get back to us and we will go from there.

verne thanks for the info..but im beyond all that..all the mechanics call the front what you called torque converter.the primary..i understand what you said, but the rollers inside the primary are not dry,,they are packed in high temp grease which were dry..think that might be a problem..agin ive trace the problem to either the wet clutch itself..unlikely..the one way lock bearing..unlikely.. nothing wrong with the belt..although i will replace it and use that one for a spare..also the spring in the secondary..or something not associated with the belt system..thanks for your help, appreciate it

Based on the video your issue is the primary clutch. The fact that the primary spins right off idle means wet clutch is working properly. The fact that the belt is sitting high up in the secondary indicates belt isn't excessively worn. It's been over 10 years since I've taken apart a Grizz 600 primary but if I recall correctly it's rollers are wrapped in plastic casings. My guess is the plastic has been damaged on one or more of them so friction causes it to not engage. Take primary apart and should be easy to diagnose.
