So I have a Mule Pro, in order to not jeopardize the warranty does the maintenance have to be done at a Kawasaki dealer? I've heard the "services" are pricey $300 plus
I'm due for a "service" but I really don't want to cough up $300 for a fancy oil change. Plus there is a cycle fix it guy 1/4 mile from my storage place.

Have you read the owners manual? I know for a 2015 warranty info is on page 167 and it extensively covers your question.

I'm guessing that means you haven't read it, most likely it is available on line Ike other year models are.
But since you're ' special ' I'll do my best to hit the high spots. It is reccomended maintenance be performed by a dealer, as long as you follow the schedule, use the reccomended parts/products / lubricants, use special tools where required ( meaning refrain from boogering up things using a pipe wrench or channel locks) and most importantly keep receipts & records of products / lubricants / parts#, hours on vehicle, date etc... it is okay with Kawasaki if another qualified technician or the owner does the maintenance.

Call your local dealership's service department and ask them. I worked in parts in one of the larger dealerships in the Austin area, and back then, they were pretty lenient on their warranty claims. If it was something that wasn't an obvious user malfunction, they would normally work with you. Some dealers are willing to work with you, while others aren't. I know that's pretty vague, but that's what I've found in the past. No idea on the current warranty stance of my old dealership though.
