Great pictures. While I still worked we took the Principles to Missoula for a few days and got to do some touring. Went to Glacier NP one day and spent another day with one of the pilots that was looking for a place to buy in the area. Beautiful differing area. Mountains and glaciers to flat lands. Saw a lot of antelope and WT but never saw a MD or Elk.

Had a friend that dreamed of moving there. He and his wife up and moved earlier this year.

We had a friend that went there to visit her daughter and son in law 30 years ago, she never came back to live in Texas. Bought a small place there and sold her Texas property. Can't blame her, beautiful place.

We are going to spend summers at our place there in retirement. Winters here. I can’t do Montana winters. scared

All of those photos were taken within a mile of our cabin. The deer from the front porch. It is strictly a summer place though - off the grid with road snowed/iced in from Nov-March.

Mainly because I am a United Club member. Get more miles for flights. Plus the direct flights were running a couple hundred more each way for the times we were looking at.

It is as green and pretty as I have ever seen it. And just last September they were putting up temporary water tanks and running hoses up the mountain by our place because of all the fires.
What a difference a few months makes.

Lots of snow and rain over the fall/winter. Snowpack has the rivers at or above flood stage in many places. Missoula had some pretty serious flooding. Here’s Rock Creek:

I literally have never been so excited about a trip as I am this one. How is the Cabelas outpost in Missoula?

Great pictures.
My youngest daughter lives in East Missoula (clear of the flooding) and spends every weekend hiking the mountains, I get pictures all of the time.
She loves to come home and hunt pigs (it makes make her workmates jealous). But later this summer we are planning a trip up there to see her. All I have seen of Montana so far is the southern most part while at Yellowstone and Red Lodge, beautiful there.
