This photo, taken by Jay Janner (Austin American-Statesman) is one of several featured in this companion piece to our write up last week on the Texas floods (LSC: Texas Rising). There were some incredible photos that came out of those floods, and as I said in the write up, they should be required viewing for anyone who spends a lot of time on Texas lakes, creeks or rivers.

Hard to believe that so much came down so fast especially since we were in a dry spell for years. Lot of people will be feeling the pain for a long time.

A clear conscience is often the sign of a fuzzy memory.

my son is an LEO and volunteered for the swift water rescue team - they had an elderly couple washed down the river - save the man. Wife was double amputee and got washed downstream - when they caught up with her she was clinging to a tree with her arms since no legs there to hold on with. Water was up to her mouth - he said she had maybe 2 minutes left before going under when they pulled her out - they all risked their lives to save this lady - he said it was all worth it.

They train in New Braunfels in the rapids - he said that those rapids compared to the flood water was not even close - he said the flood waters were absolutey beyond compare -

You can't fix stupid
