I don't know my snakes very well, so what kind of snake is the black one? I definitely know the other one is a rattle snake.

They are listed as "threatened" in the state of Texas. Killing one would be unwise but I doubt anyone would look to string you up as long as you aren't posting pics of it on here or facebook. They are great snakes to have around.

Cool pics, and vid! That was a big azz snake. I won't kill them if I don't have to. I had a small rat snake trying to get in the house the other day. I went to catch him and he bit me, pretty good too. I beat his head about 2" into the ground with a 9 iron.
