I know some here ante these birds but being only me second year ever hunting them and my first year trying to call them with some succes I can see my self getting more and more into hunt them. I was stuck offshore bored and started tesxting with a good buddy of mine up in Oklahoma. Brad Albeck from Albecksadventures. (He has some great guided goose and duck hunts by the way). We got on the subject of turkey hunting. With no places to hunt in mind I asked if he had any places there to hunt. Of course being Brad he said come on up and we'll go hammer some at a buddies ranch. We set a date and time and on my way up there he informs me he was gonna be delayed a day due to work but that he lined up a hunt for me with another buddy of his for an eastern turkey. Having got a rio last year already I was more than happy to try for an eastern. I called the guy up adm we set a time to meet. Upon meeting him I find out that it want just hint it was his dad and uncle coming along to as they had been chasing them and wanted to team up since they where getting harder and harder to hunt. We get out and by daylight we have 7 different birds gobbling. Sadly we worked our tails off but nothing comes with in range and we head back for some lunch and a nap. Later that afternoon his dad decides they going chase white peach so me and hunter head to try our luck and hour before I have to hit their lad to meet up with brad. 10 minutes into the hunt I'm holding a monster 26lb 13inch bearded 1 /34 spur. To some that may not be huge but to me it was an absolute brute. I say my thanks and good byes and drive hour and half west to meet Brad. After getting to his place he loads his stuff up and we drive another hour west to pick up his side kick big Dan and his nephew Mad dog. Another 2 hours of driving west and we are in rio country. Brad and Dan don't hunt turkey's so they decided they would sit in a deer stand watch us try our luck. I haven't gotten my Eastern and perfectly happy with the hunt just wanted to try out some calling I been practicing. At daylight we are out at the ranch and me and Maddog set out to see what we can find. Within 20 minutes we have 3 toms going at it. Maybe they whee just dumb but I felt like a pro haha. First one that comes in never presents a clear shot and is gone before we can get it. We move locations and before long have a group of 3 jakes at 20 yards. Maddog said he was out for meat and that what he got. 2 shots later he has his 2 rios on the ground. We head back to the truck and get some refreshments. I told brad I wanted to go practice some more so I head back out and with in 30 min I have a monster rio at 20 yards. I didn't even bring my gun it was awesome just watching him strut. He Saunders off and pick up everything and head back to the truck. While I'm walking I reflect on furtunate I have been the past few years taking many animals I never thought I would be able to thanks to people I have met along the way. Those of you on here that know me I just want to say thank you. My trophy room is now getting full to the brim and my taxidermist just added on to his house cause of y'all lol. Here's a few pictures from the hunts. Maddog got a pretty nasty cut on his hand from crossing a fence after shitting the birds so I carried them back for him. Made for some good photo ops I'd like to think.

I've come to enjoy spring turkey hunting more than any other type of hunting I do. Congrats. I'd love to bag an eastern. Maybe I can find someone in a neighboring state that will swap hunts.
