 That axis buck in the second pic is a toad. 20 years ago you would be hard pressed to find exotics roaming around Sonora. I think the evidence shows that Axis do better in Texas than native white tail. They sure taste better.

Thanks everyone. This ranch is actually in Edwards Co. The axis are funny, I've looked at two TOADS at night several times just watching them, then a paying whitetail trophy buck hunter wants to buy one and they vanish! Two hunters got good ones last hunt. We have only been seeing them for the past 12 years but the numbers increase every year. Good eating.
