Hi everyone.

Its been a while but here are some fresh pictures from the field.

First up was Tom Derbyshire in the quest for a trophy Kudu bull.

Tom keeping a close eye on the mountains in search for a Kudu bull.

On the final day of 10 and seeing about 60 Kudu bulls in total Tom decided that he should take this old bull with plenty of character instead and return for a bigger one next year.

Hunting and shooting Kudu in the mountains is the fun part, the other part is packing the Kudu out and getting it loaded on the truck.

Tom's hunt for a Kudu was over and on his departure I picked up Dale in JHB and headed back to Limpopo for another 10 days of hunting.

Dale Harber, myself and my wife Henriette with Dale's outstanding trophy Sable bull. After two days of trying to locate a Sable for Dale to shoot we finally found fresh tracks of a single bull around a watering hole and immediately started to follow them. It took around 45 minutes before we found him.

Dale and tracker Simon with the Zebra that fell in it's tracks from one shot of Dale's 9.3x62 Ruger no1

Dale and I at the entrance gate of the Soetveld Concession

Dale and tracker Peter on top of the mountain hunting for Mountain Reedbuck

The bait that is regularly visited by Honey Badgers, Civet Cats and Hyenas

Getting ready for the night hunt.

Dale with his well deserved Honey Badger taken at around 18:45

Being successful with an African Civet cat is not always easy but sometimes luck smiles on you just as it did for Dale when he got this outstanding trophy cat

a Trophy common Duiker in all aspects, not the thick horn base of this old ram.

At around 1:00am in the morning and feeling very cold luck smiled on Dale again when he finally got a chance at a trophy Bushbuck.

Amen! I guess you could say there are at least three, Kudu, Sable and the Honey Badger...these would make a safari worth taking!

Although most hunters consider an African hunting experience to be one for Kudu, Impala, Blue Wildebeest, Blesbuck, Warthog etc. most seasoned hunters are amazed at how exciting and challenging it is to hunt Honey Badger, Civet Cat and all the other small cats like Genet, African Wild Cat, Serval, Caracal and the rest.

If you want to experience the full bag African experience, consider adding some of the little cats on your list of animals to hunt, you will be surprised at how much fun it can be. There is no difference in a Leopard hunt compared to a Badger hunt, besides the actual species.

AND ALL OF THEM ARE COOL TROPHIES
