Just a reminder that on Saturday, March 19th, about a month from now, the newly established Ft Hood Chapter of Heroes on the Water (HOW) will hold their inaugural kayak fishing event, the Spring Outing, at Lake Belton’s Cedar Ridge Park.

HOW helps our nation’s warriors and veterans from all services to unwind through the therapeutic qualities of kayak fishing. The program provides guided trips which serve to help our vets decompress from the stresses associated with rehabilitation. All equipment, from kayaks to safety equipment, even the fishing gear, is provided for the vets by HOW. Participants also receive basic kayak fishing and paddling instruction, angling clinics and paddling classes for participants with skill sets ranging from beginners to the most experienced paddlers.

Please help us get the word out to any vets you know in central Texas. Those wishing to attend should RSVP to ft.hoodtx@heroesonthewater.org in order to ensure enough resources are on hand during the event. Those wishing to volunteer or donate to the new chapter can contact Greg Sterley at 440-376-3417 or Bert Rodriguez at 817-996-1041.
