Well part of one anyway. Scored this slab of tusk and it's going to make a set of really nice scales.

Going to be cool, but I don't know if I could cut it LOL, neat mantel piece by itself.

This piece came out of Alaska, to me anyway the tusk from Alaska seem to be a lot more solid than the ones that come out of Siberia.

Good ideas guys. I haven't decided what I'm going to do with it. For now I'll stabilize it and just keep it in the shop in a safe place. Years ago before my old lab died he got in the shop one day and snatched a piece of Mammoth tusk off of my work bench and chewed it to pieces. My fault since I left the door open but I learned a lesson that day. One of these days I'll have a blade that just begs for it, until then it will just sit.

Was it a high or low fence woolly mammoth? I'm sure he was a low fence, free range Woolly Mammoth. Probably killed by a bigger one during the rut

That is a high dollar dog treat! Yes but he did enjoy it. I never scolded him or anything. I wasn't there when he took it and it was my fault for leaving the door open. We all know how Labs like to chew on stuff.
