Anybody have advice on Electronic earplugs? Looking for some hearing protection to use while hunting but still have the ability to hear my surroundings and people. Don't want to break the bank but want something adequate enough that I will use them. Thanks!

I have been using these below. They are ok. Take a look at the link below for all the comments on them. I like them, but the battery only lasts about 6-8 hours at a time. When it's hot and you get sweaty, I noticed the plugs moving around some and trying to fall out a few times. But I do like shooting with these as I don't have the large muffs. Link to thread where we were talking about them. http://texashuntingforum.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/6821428/1

Another vote for Howared-Leight low profiles. Amazing! I was with friend in an aluminum all metal blind hog hunting one night. We both had these and could whisper and sounds were very clear. With volume up any little movement inside blind sounded like storm sounds... thus have to adjust volume. When time for the shot, it littler was like shooting with a can. Wish I have bought these years ago.

The Howard Leight electronic muffs are the best muffs I have found. I have about 5 pair of them! But they are large and can get in the way of a good cheek weld sometimes.

I had a pr of Howard Leights. When under the conopy at the range, shooting a .243 and dange near blew my ears out!!!! You have to turn the volum way down to shoot. On the other hand if they were turned up I could hear two mice making out at the highway 300 yards away.
Thank You Robert

I've shot hundreds of rounds with mine and they never fail to kickin and block the report. When you crank them up an amadillo moving through the underbrush does sound like an elephant

My ears hurt and rang after that.

I have plugs that look just like the Walker game ear, got at Cabelas, but cost WAY less. I wear earplugs at work so they don't bother me, put them going out the door take out coming in. Deer hunting I use electronic muffs, they keep your ears warm. As stated above, you can hear everything that moves.
