Hey all you crazy Texans. Been a while (2 years) since I have added anything on here, just been busy. A lot has happened in my last years, sold my house & business up in Minnesota and last October officially moved to Texas. Bought a small cattle ranch near Seadrift on the Coast and loving it. Enjoy waking up in the morn and watching the wildlife on the ranch and caring for my cows & animals. Been hunting a bit since moving, and thought you'd all enjoy this. Nice whitetail last fall here at ranch, a Great nilgai Gold Medal status from the Ytuerra Ranch in January. And this sweet Axis last week here at seadrift Falcon Point Ranch, 33 inches & 8 points. Loving Texas!

Thanks everyone for the great welcomes. I tell ya, I have busted my arse setting up this small ranch. When a guy starts with 60 acres of rough land with nothing but one old tin granary shed on it, I am pretty proud of what I have built. This place is looking pretty Grande right now. Not to brag at things, but this is my showplace retirement ranch. And the hunting & fishing here on the Gulf is Sweet! I did keep some land in Minnesota set up with my t.v. camper, plus still have cabin in Canada for hot summers here.

I hunted with the Horn Fin Feather lodge by port Mansfield. Booked hunt off this forum with Brent Jasper. Absolute great hunt and will do it again. Highly recommend. Saw 75 nilgai in 1 day plus other critters as well. Great guide and lodge staff.

How did you find that small ranch on the coast?

My wife and I are looking for just such a thing. Or maybe inland a little. Every listing I see wants ridiculous money for land. How did you swing it?
