Looking at hunting a new area out of state this year and was wondering if anyone has used Hunt by onXmaps? Think it used to be called X maps. Anyway, didn't know if it was worth it or if a plain old paper map works just as well. New area I'm going to has public land but there is also a lot of private land mixed in. Give me your

If you decide to go the printed route, let me know and we can get some nice laminated maps for you, for the field or your wall, or both. Enjoy the new hunting area! Always cool to check out a new place! -George

I have one for my region and like it. I hunt the Gila and BLM land a lot. It identifies private property boundaries. I think it also gives landowner names.
I think I paid $99 for it and find it useful.

Thanks for the info guys! I was thinking this is a good option and the cost would be cheaper than possibly trespassing and ending up in the pokey or a big fine. I've never had a problem before because I'm deep enough in the NF and wonder around with a printed map, but this area is BLM that is cut up with private land. My birthday is coming up, maybe I'll ask the wife for it Wish me luck!

Make sure it has the counties you want. Some states such as OK get full coverage but others are very spotty.

I bought the Texas micro sd version a while back. Great that these have NF and BLM boundaries, but neither help me in TX. I was very disappointed to find it did not have the Corps of Engineers property boundaries on it, so I shelved it. I would not have purchased it if I had known this. Most of my hunting in Texas is on Corps Public Land. My bad, I should have read up on it and not assumed it had it. Any chance FT Worth District Corps and Tulsa District Corps land boundaries will be included for Texas in the future? And Oklahoma? Lacking Corps boundaries is the reason I never bought the OK card.

TopoUSA has none of the public areas on it. What ive done s used the public hunting maps in booklet along with Topo maps, a get lay of land. Get a starting point & then use wayword points then down load my map. The WMA that i've hunted are pretty well marked for boundries. Have used em for marking area's were found rubs scrapes ya get good overlook at deer movement. You dont need HF ta get good healthy deer. on the idea. Tis good ta see the Public Hunting section in THF on behalf of the low-income on here. Tip me hat
