I just hate that the hunting season is coming to a close. Many of us hunters saw very little this year and I have set many hours in the stand. I am at peace here in the woods with nature and all city life stresses are forgotten. Even though the deer movement has been minimal this year, I bagged a trophy on opening weekend, took a spike 2 weeks ago and laid down some pork yesterday. I will call it a rewarding season, and I hope everyone has enjoyed the outdoors and have a safe and wonderful holiday season.

I don't have to shoot anything, just being out and enjoying nature is good enough for me, tree rats, cotton'tail, of course piggy's are always an option

Yep it sucks. I did get to hunt much more than I expected this year due to an emergency appendectomy, but only bow hunted once. It been slow but its been very peaceful. Good luck to everyone for the remainder of the season. Merry Christmas to you all!!!!

I only hunt during the dove and deer serason then I take a little break before a long grueling season of travel for another hobby that takes the rest of the year.

It does stink for those that choose to not hunt exotics year around or hunt on places that are MLDP. At least you had a place to hunt and got some meat in the freezer.

I haven't hunted the family ranch at all this year and probably won't at this rate.

I am going to turn my focus to waterfowl for the rest of the season

My friend called from the deer lease in Uvalde this AM. First time we haven't been down to South Texas in December in several years. There were 64 turkeys and 42 deer in the oat patch, and he said it was more fun to watch than shoot! :0

Well I like to hunt year round for pigs and exotics. But really, deer season never ends for me. Yes, the time I'm allowed to shoot them is limited and nearly gone for nine months but I'm in the woods preparing, getting to know them, learning from them and living the hunt year round.

You stay home and pout if you like. I will be out slaying the pork, maybe taking down a red deer doe or sika doe. Enjoying the sunrises and sunsets at my farm and at the lease. Sipping a beer around the fire pit and fixing up those things that I didn't have time to get to during the designated "hunting" season. Hunting and fishing isn't a hobby or a season for me. It's who I am.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

Hunting season for me is september thru early january and I love every minute of it. March begins R/C airplane season for my son and I. He competes freestyle against some of the top R/C pilots in the world and is a grueling season of events and competitions for us as we travel to South Carolina, Muncie Indiana, Monroe Michigan and all over Texas and surrounding states. South Carolina hosts the largest R/C event in the world called Joe Nall and is an amazing experience. My son is 18 and I spend and live every moment with him that I can. Check out the youtube video of the Joe Nall Event, planes , helicopters, warbirds, float planes, boats, jets, everything.
