Good luck. They were moving this morning, saw a few doe in the wheat field, no chasing yet. Only saw one young 4 point in the field, no other bucks were out today.

In Abilene we have the parade on Saturday to get a turn out, if they held it on Tuesday, there wouldn't be a parade.

Short update, no rut sign, deer have been hitting feeders for the past two weeks between midnight and 5AM. It doesn't help when the wind blows 20mph from 6AM until 8PM.

Longer story:
I moved an old tower stand with no roof and short walls to hunt the feeder I moved this summer. I'm trying to make some use of the new area where I planned to hunt out of my new cedar blind that got destroyed in the tornado last month. Anyways, I got it set during bow season and hunted it for the first time Friday. Give you one guess what idiot put the feeder directly in the morning sun and the trails and tank in the evening sun! The cams have given me some hope with does, fawns, a 7 and a short old 6 that need culled. There's a couple 8's that will get another pass this year that are really nice 3.5 maybe 4.5.
Next chapter is I bought an anode rod for the water heater to try and rid the rotten egg stank, but when I went to change it the rod had rotted off the head. I went to Home Depot in Brownwood this morning and the guy told me they only carried one model for LP and I said I guess that will have to work. Well, the kid couldn't find the one and said they were out. Okay, fine, can you see if Abilene has one (nobody else in Brownwood open on Sunday that might have one so I'm grinding my teeth thinking about driving to Abilene). 20 minutes later he finds me and said they show one in inventory and they are looking for it. Finally got it and replaced it a couple hours ago. Sent the family back to Waco and I just poured my first drink. Tomorrow I'm going to move the stand and try and salvage the drop zone for the rest of the rifle season.

Could be worse, I could be going to work tomorrow instead of Tuesday.
