Dout there will be any traps on WMAs during season.
If so you got steel traps and snares.. leg traps are nothing and dout they will even hurt the dog just hold it... the snares as long as your there to calm the dog down will be easy to get off by releasing the set or cutting it...
There is a trap that I would highly doubt is being used during season but if your dog finds a little piece of meat on top of some pipe...... well... lets just hope that don't happen.

If they where my leg hold traps they'd hurt, even the off sets with rubber, will be a pain if the dog has large bone. Closed gap is less than 1/2". Snares would be worse IMO, they are quick if the dog struggles (thankfully most "people dogs" don't freak like a coyote.
Have some damn good cutters, as most good ones (snares),are aircraft cable. I would bet a snare would be left behind before a $50 jaw trap as well.
Will usually find snares on a fence row. jaw traps usually on a trail or roadside edge.
If it is a state or government trapper (which I would doubt) they usually post signs warning that traps are in the area and always when using the m44 sodium cyanide spring loaded trap.
I would really doubt that there would be traps out there though, to costly and time consuming to risk the loss.
If at first you dont succeed, then skydiving is not for you..
