Good deal, seems half the Walmart around here, quit carrying turkey hunting "stuff" Over by HD is convenient unless your head N/S through town on 51.

They are doing a "soft opening". Grand Opening is slated for the 15th with GO sales.

It is literally a block from FM51 and you can turn around on Tin Top under I-20 to head back to 51. Wife can't wait until Hobby Lobby opens in the fall next door LOL.

Half the shelves will be empty in the fishing dept in a few days. Every time I go to an Academy their out of what I'm looking for. Last time, I went into one for 5 different fishing items, they were out of all 5. I order online from them now, free shipping over $25.

They are true sages.

'Can't find CCI CB 22 short anywhere. Several months ago I asked an Academy clerk and he suggested the Aguila. That squirrel became really annoyed with me until I used my last CCI CB 22 short. The dogs are gonna have to find a new hobby.

I don't expect expert advice from someone who works at a store that also sells underwear and dog snacks. I think the young folks that run the counter at ours do a good enough job if you already know what you're looking for. If I need expert advice, I'll go to a real gun store.

Heck, those 2 stores will be a 2 fer 1 deal LOL, I hate 51 going through town, sure like the West loop though!

I do like the Wal-Mart gas station on 51 because it sells ethanol-free gas, other than that it's always a slow crawl.

When I was in there to check it out today an old man asked one of the salesmen if they had any 22 rat shot. The kid said he didn't know what that was. We were standing right next to it. I handed the old man a pack and got out of there.
Their reloading powder is locked in the back and is several dollars higher than Gibson's, which I thought was high.

There is access to Academy from Tin Top Rd. The road (Tin Top) that goes between Academy & Home Depot T's into Bethel Rd about a mile N. Turn right on Bethel and go about 300 yds and it runs into 51 at a controlled intersection. I come in this way when I go to Harbor Freight (on the other side of I-20)

I live in Brock, and work in FTW, so this is great! We have a new Academy, a new QT(with beer), a new Harbor Freight, and Home Depot right there together. Pretty much all your lease needs together on your way out I20.

I shopped at one when I was working in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Had alot of good stuff and good prices. I was REAL happy when I heard they were opening one in my hometown (Columbia, Missouri). Opened about a month ago. Better yet, it is only ONE mile from my house. Been there about half dozen times already. Town of 100,000+ people but we are limited in sporting good stores. Have a BassPro, but they are very proud of their stuff and prices show it. WalMart has limited selection of what I look for.

Meh! Ray's Hardware used to sell toilet supplies and food disposal units. They may still carry those items.
